Premium Processing Expansion:
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is implementing the third phase of its expansion of premium processing for certain pending Forms I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Workers, in the EB-1 Multinational Executive and Manager and EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW) categories.
Since September 15, 2022, USCIS has begun accepting premium processing upgrades for:
- EB-1 Multinational Executive and Manager I-140 petitions received on or before January 1, 2022, and
- EB-2 NIW I-140 petitions received on or before February 1, 2022.
Employee Mobility Solutions (EMS) can assist with those cases that could be affected by these new measures and taking the corresponding action. Moreover, the Premium Processing option is available for other types of applications too, including nonimmigrant visas.
Automatic Green Card Validity:
Since September 26, 2022, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has increased the automatic green card validity extension granted to green card renewal applicants to 24 months (the previous policy referred to 12 months).
Diversity Visa Lottery:
The Department of State has begun accepting applications for the 2024 Diversity Visa lottery. Applicants have until November 8 at noon ET to register.
The government will make 55,000 Green Cards available to foreigners from countries that have a low rate of immigration to the US.
