The Immigration Office has suffered a cyber-attack and a complaint has been filed with the Argentinian courts.  The Immigration Office indicated that as far as they know personal and sensitive information has not been violated, but the hackers say they have collected information related to the United States Consulate, reports from INTERPOL, and the AFI ( Federal Intelligence Agency). The government has been extorted with the payment of a millionaire figure for said information not be disclosed to the public.

This cyber-attack has caused delays in the processes, such as in setting up appointments to obtain and renew residences.

Today the possibility of completing online applications has been restored and the Immigration Office is working to gradually standardize services.
