Due to the increasing rate of infected by COVID, in recent months in the People's Republic of China, is published on December 31, 2022, the Official State Gazette (BOE) of the Resolution of December 30, 2022, of the Directorate General of Public Health, regarding health checks to be performed at points of entry into Spain to passengers from the People's Republic of China, which will take effect from its publication until 24. 00 on February 15, 2023, and without prejudice to its possible modification to respond to a change of circumstances or new recommendations within the European Union.
However, its third paragraph, which will come into force at 00.00 hours on January 3, 2023, in which the following is highlighted:
- Sanitary controls at the points of entry to Spain: passengers arriving in Spain by air from the People's Republic of China, may be subject to a sanitary control at the first point of entry that will include, at least, taking a temperature, a documentary control and a visual control on their physical condition.
They must have a digital EU COVID Certificate or equivalent, referred to in Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 June 2021. In case of not having an EU digital COVID Certificate or equivalent, they must have a certificate of diagnostic test of active infection of COVID-19 with negative result and transport companies must ensure that all passengers boarding to Spain from the People's Republic of China have an EU digital COVID Certificate or equivalent, or a certificate of diagnostic test of active infection of COVID-19 with negative result.
The following are excluded from these measures: The crews of national and international means of transport, children under twelve years of age and passengers arriving in Spain in transit to other countries, provided that they do not leave the airport environment and that their stay in Spain does not exceed twenty-four hours.
