EMS Mexico informs that, due to the holiday period, the Immigration National Institute (INM) schedules a possible office closure from December 19, 2022 to January 1, 2023. The INM would be resuming activities as normal from the day January 2, 2022.

Spain – The Democratic Memory Law comes into force today: Who can apply for Spanish nationality?
On October 21, the Democratic Memory Law, also known as the “Grandchildren’s Law”, has come into force. Applicants have until October 21, 2024 to apply for their Spanish nationality and, after this deadline, the Council of Ministers may agree to extend it for an additional year.
USA – Travelling to the United States if you have visited Cuba

Mexico: New visa requirement for Brazilian nationals
On August 3, 2022, the Ministry of the Interior (SEGOB) published an agreement in the Federation Official Gazette (DOF) by which article 2 of the document is reformed and with which the temporary application of visas in passports is determined to the Federative Republic of Brazil´s nationals in the condition of stay of Visitor without permission to carry out remunerated activities, therefore, Brazilian nationals who intend to enter Mexican territory will no longer be able to process an electronic visa, on the contrary, they must apply for a visa at the Mexican Consulate in their place of residence.

USA | USCIS Increases Automatic Extension Period of Work Permits for Certain Applicants
This measure, as a Temporary Final Rule (TFL), arises from a context in which USCIS are fiscally and operationally impacted, situations exacerbated by the challenges brought on by the pandemic and an overwhelming increase in Employment Authorization Document (EAD) renewal applications; which also seeks to ensure that eligible noncitizens applicants have the opportunity to maintain their employment and provide crucial support to their families.
ARGENTINA: The government has published the Provision 1064/21 stating the following requirements to enter
• Immigration Electronic Sworn Statement to be filled out within 48hs prior boarding and will require to attach PCR result and vaccination certificate, then PRINT copy of the confirmation e-mail to board a flight (all passengers including children).
U.S. plans to lift entry restrictions for vaccinated international travelers
The White House announced that it will remove certain restrictions related to the entry of international travelers who are vaccinated against Covid-19, beginning in November. This removal of restrictions includes travelers from the United Kingdom and the European Union.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has announced that starting October 1, 2021, individuals applying for U.S. lawful permanent residence (a green card) must now obtain a Covid vaccine, if eligible, as part of the medical examination requirement.
