Esta flexibilización política puede significar varios acontecimientos en el futuro, que van desde la facilitación de diálogos políticos hasta la reanudación de conversaciones entre los sectores petroleros de ambos países y que llevarían a negociar los términos de posibles actividades futuras en Venezuela. La flexibilización de ciertas sanciones conllevaría eventualmente a un incremento en el intercambio y movimiento migratorio y locativo casi siempre activando y prometiendo la expansión de las fronteras.

Recent talks between the U.S. and Venezuelan governments have resulted in the announcement in the media of the lifting of certain sanctions imposed in the past by the U.S. on Venezuelan government officials and state institutions.
